Fumi’s practice areas include real estate, finance and corporate law; and she frequently handles transactions that involve more than one area of law. She has substantial experience in real estate acquisition and sale transactions, including deferred and reverse 1031 exchanges, and in real estate secured loans, including mezzanine loans. Often, as part of a transaction, she organizes limited liability companies or limited partnerships, and prepares the associated operating or partnership agreements. With respect to business transactions, she has handled private offerings of limited liability company interests, acquisitions and sales of business assets, purchases of aircraft and commercial loans secured by aircraft.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Fumi was a Director of Finance, Division Controller and Manager of Financial Strategy at Apple Inc. Prior to her tenure at Apple, she advised executives at a number of Fortune 500 firms, primarily in the food, forest products and rail transportation industries, as a management consultant with McKinsey & Co., Inc. and Arthur D. Little, Inc.
