A partner in the Real Estate group, Laird joined the firm in 1995. His practice includes representation of landlords and tenants in industrial/commercial, office and retail leasing transactions; buyers and sellers in acquisition, disposition, sale-leaseback and build-to-suit transactions; and exchangers in tax-deferred real property exchanges. In the context of representing real estate investment trusts, Laird has experience in multi-state portfolio transactions. He has also represented power plant and windfarm owners and operators in regulatory certification and asset acquisition and disposition matters. Prior to acquiring his law degree, Laird had a seven-year career in public and private accounting, project finance, and financial consulting.
